Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine and is the author of five books, hundreds of chapters, over 150 articles in peer reviewed scientific journals, serves on 10 editorial boards, 5 medical advisory boards and has been invited as a Visiting Professor to hundreds of the major ophthalmology programs internationally.  He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Commissioner of the FDA, holds twelve patents since 1977, and has received numerous awards over the past 48 years from AAO, ACRS, ESCRS, UKSCRS, MEACO, CLAO, and IIIC.
